Present-day Lucian is 9 years old, As his pregnant mother, Laura is walking , two figures seen standing as is a faded illusion of the two brothers much older. With his dad not present, Lucian promises himself and his mother that he will do everything in his power to keep them safe. On the day of Hito's birth, after Lucian sees his little brother, he breaks into tears, seeing a little bright soul that will bring light to Lucian in the distant future. At that moment, Lucian feels that their future will be bright but challenging.
